FINALIZED COVER
The finalized cover of “The Swastika and Symbols of Hate” was designed with the intent of bold, striking size. Using the overlay of the white Nazi German flag circle, I covered up a cascade of “SWASTIKA” with symbolism in “fading” history, which is a question begged in the novel. Is the Swastika fading out of history, or is it strong and resonating everywhere, even now?
First Shape Proof
My first attempt at somewhat of an “abstract” approach to displaying a Swastika in a front facing capacity. I eventually decided to not use the symbol, to save snap judgment of disgust, or otherwise. But I am happy with the negative space attempt.
First Shape Proof 2
It’s not an “impressive” design, I’m working with red and a circle. But displaying the Swastika can truly not be done unless there is a jarring bright German red of the Nazi flag, and this is now the basis of the design.
